Lettuce - Black seeded Simpson
A highly productive lettuce. It grows quickly, into curled leaves whose color reminds me of a highlighter. It’s bright greenish-yellow textured leaves bring a visually appealing touch to the garden.
When to Plant:
- North Florida: September - October & February - March
- Central Florida: September - March
- South Florida: September - January
Planting instructions: Plant in a spot with full sun and well-draining soil. Give each plant 6-8” of space between each other. Sow directly into the garden or start transplants undercover. Plant seeds about ¼ “ deep and water regularly.
Germination time: 7 - 10 Days
Days to Maturity: 45 days
Number of seeds per pack: 30-40
I sowed these seeds not even a week ago and some of the seeds have already started poking their little greens out from under the soil! So excited!
This lettuce grew very well. It's very easy to grow. I'll be planting it again for sure.
