Watermelon - Sugar Baby

This is a smaller growing watermelon, Ideal for home gardens. Many other varieties of watermelon can take over a small garden very quickly. Sugar baby watermelons make smaller vines that are about 4 feet long. The watermelon grown is also much smaller but it still packs a lot of sweetness and saves you space in the fridge. 

Type: Heirloom

When to Plant: 

  • North Florida: March & July
  • Central Florida: January - March & August
  • South Florida: January - March & August

Planting instructions: Plant in a spot with full sun and well-draining soil. Give each plant 24-36” of space between each other. Sow directly into the garden or start transplants undercover. Plant seeds about ¼ “ deep and water regularly. 

Germination time: 3 - 10 Days

Days to Maturity: 75 days

Number of seeds per pack: 30-40

Watermelon growing!

Fantastic, I struggled getting seeds to actually grow and thrive here in Central Florida, I actually have success now using your seeds. My herbs are doing great too, covered them for the freeze, beautiful and still alive (through Jan and Feb) I Stopped buying seeds from big stores (my first mistake I made as a gardener) Local is the way to go for sure!
